Croc Tatau

Croc was an English artist who owned Croc Ta Tatau, and apprenticed under Inia Taylor, who himself trained under Tufuga Ta Tatau, Paulo Suluape. Croc did tatau for many years and travelled throughout the world sharing his artwork. He always used traditional Polynesian tatau equipment and methods and did not use the tattoo machines that we are used to in the UK.

I first met Croc in 1998 whilst travelling in India. We hit it off straight away and he influenced me heavily in starting my tattoo career. Unfortunately he passed away at the start of 2021 after a life long battle with cystic fibrosis. RIP Croc.
